About the Tutor
Hi there, my name´s Maddy and ’ve been teaching primary since 2011 (in Portugal and Spain). I trained at Goldsmiths in London. I´ve worked with all ages from nursery to year 6.
I mostly prepare students for the 11+ exam alongside general tutoring.
I´m very interested in learning styles and how different materials can help children to reach their goals. The material we use and the way it’s implemented are very important. It´s also very important to me that my students don´t feel under pressure and that they enjoy the classes, no matter how tricky the subject might be. I particularly love tutoring maths, and helping my students to see that it´s not difficult once we remember the steps.
I can also tutor English to a high level as I've taught English to speakers of other languages since 2003.
I’ve been teaching online since 2020. Teaching online means you have to capture the students attention 100%, whilst building a good, friendly but focused relationship.
