I am a supportive, experienced educator who is passionate about the subject of sociology. I am highly knowledgeable and confident about teaching A-level and GCSE sociology and skilled in supporting students to achieve the highest grades. I have been an examiner for two of the Sociology A-level papers, since 2023, and this gives me good insight into what examiners are looking for in exam questions. One of my strengths is my positive approach and I will help you to realise your own strengths and work with you to develop your weaker areas by setting targets which we will work on and review together. A sociology tutoring lesson will typically start with a discussion of what you know about a topic, move on to reviewing some content that we will agree on together, and end with planning a response to an essay question on that topic. I offer a free introductory meeting, and trial session.

I have experience of teaching and tutoring the Cambridge International exam board, and the AQA exam board, and I am open to tutoring at other levels such as undergraduate degree levels.

My main subject is sociology at any level, but I am also keen to do Philosophy A-level or adult interest at a lower cost as I am a philosophy enthusiast. I can also support students doing WJEC criminology, also at a lower price.

I am enthusiastic about working with neuro-diverse students, and I am a kind and patient person, and keen to discuss strategies that help students to learn best. I have an HE Fellowship qualification which I recently obtained, and I am also happy to work with Sociology or Education undergraduate students who require a bit of extra support in understanding an assignment task, or with developing their academic writing skills.
